Summary/Abstract: The 60th World Congress of Statistics, organized by the International Institute of Statistics gathered numerous statisticians and was an opportunity to present the latest plans and achievements in the field of statistics. Extensive problems of the Congress related both to scientific issues, methodological, and practical aspects of statistical offices. A particular interest was the discussion inspired by current issues, including issues relating to quality of life and sustainable development. According to the keynote of the Congress, ie. ”Statistical science for a better world”, much attention was devoted to reflection on the role of statistics and the challenges of growing informational expectations and possibilities of the use of different data sources. Among the more than 1250 papers presented at the Congress were some presenting Polish experiences concerning, among others cross-border statistics, quality of life and communication with users. It was a great opportunity to promote Polish public statistics among international statisticians — theoreticians and practitioners.
