SMU GROM Special Forces Training

Summary/Abstract: The paper looks at the changes in the training schemes of SMU GROM soldiers that have taken place throughout the thirty years of the organisation’s existence, not neglecting the impact that cooperation with other special units has had on them. The goal of the study was to identify the factors which influenced the high level of training that has been proved by numerous combat operations. Issues such as the training facilities and their development, including an outline of the initial difficulties and the role of the determination of SMU GROM soldiers in overcoming them, have not been omitted. The conclusions of the article can be drawn by analysing the evolution of the SMU GROM training process. They emphasise not only the role of experience of partner units or operations abroad, but also the involvement of soldiers who do more than just their duties, frequently at the expense of their private lives.
