Summary/Abstract: The text analyzes various levels of the misuse in interpretation of the past in historical textbooks. Manipulation of facts makes historical textbooks an efficient means for creation of national and historical consciousness, and their analysis therefore offers a valuable model for understanding ‘us’ and ‘others’.
