Summary/Abstract: Harmonious integration of elements of the economic system creates the conditions for its optimization in the economic development. The paper aims to investigate the structure evolution trends of freight among the EU countries. For this purpose, the analysis of the taxonomic structure of the cargo was made. The analysis allowed to assess the accuracy of the changes in the structure of transport in Europe. Its key feature is the dominance of road transport.
