Summary/Abstract: The beginnings of Polish organization and management science are inextricably linked with Lviv and the person of Edwin Hauswald. The paper focuses on the contribution of Edwin Hauswald to the development of management sciences in the aspect of organization, human capital and economic issues. Particular emphasis was placed on the issue of Hauswalda’s innovative organizational methods, his views on the company’s personnel policy and issues of profitability. The links between Edwin Hauswald’s professional practice and experience and his scientific achievements were pointed out. The aim of the paper is to approximate Hauswald’s profile as a precursor of Polish organization and management science.
