Summary/Abstract: The long tradition of evangelical (German) education in Osieczna – datingback to the 17th century – was partly continued also in the period of the SecondPolish Republic. This was made possible by the Polish educational law, aswell as by the efforts of the German minority. The history of the local schoolwas thus connected with the activity of the local evangelical parish, as well asexternal nationwide German organizations supporting the development of educationand culture of their national minority. The political and social situationshaped by the interwar Polish–German relations also influenced the fate of theevangelical (German) education.
