Summary/Abstract: This study brings together theoretical considerations on the one hand, and presentation of the research process analysis on the other. The aim of the study was to present the selected demographic variables and their relationship to the variables that form the three essential components of a sense of personal identity. For the purposes of this analysis, it was assumed that when talking about demographic variables, the respondent's gender, structure of the respondent's family, and education of the respondent's parents will be taken into account. The question to be answered was how in the light of the changing reality and challenges facing the modern family the relationships of the above-mentioned variables with the variables forming the three basic components of the sense of personal identity are formed. The latter were identified as: self perception in the present time, self perception in the future and the value system of a respondent. The research processtook place in several stages, using four different research tools. The analysis of the acquired material showed that the indicated demographic variables in various areas significantly differentiate the variables adopted as components of the sense of personal identity.
