The role of official statistics representatives and academic community in the development of „Statistical News” profile

Summary/Abstract: The article presents major events illustrating the role of both statistical academics and official statistics community in the development of „Statistical News” information profile. The formulation of an information strategy during the creation of „Statistical News” in 1956, the refusal of dominating magazine contents by instructional and training information mainly for internal use in the 1960s as well as the introduction of functional solutions resulting from the requirements of scientific journals in 2013 were considered as one of the most significant issues. The academic community of the Main School of Planning and Statistics, which has influenced the development of the thematic profile of „Statistical News”, was also characterized in this paper.
