Summary/Abstract: This article presents an analysis of the impact of stress on the quality of life of the population in Poland, based on the results of periodic surveys "Social Diagnosis". By examining the relationship between quality of life and stress factors the author used multinomial probit model and ratio analysis. The force and direction of the impact of stress on quality of life was measured. The article presents the results of estimation, model fitting, and the interpretation of the marginal effects. The model showed the correlation between quality of life and stress situations. The quality of life is negatively affected by age and the loss of a loved one. Stress reducing caused by marital, fmancial, health and legal situations influences the increased likelihood of satisfaction with life. Stress caused by work-related problems and the immediate surrounding reduced only slightly the probability of worse quality of life assessment.
