Summary/Abstract: One of the most challenging endeavors of the present times is how a decision maker succeeds in communicating in times of crisis. And that’s really an accomplishment since we are talking about the new media and technology that transform every person into a journalist, able to film and distribute on social media, in real time, any image with impact and significance in crisis and when the public has access in no time, at practically no cost to infinite information that allows everyone to judge and challenge the decision maker. Just go figure out how such a communication is realized when the crisis in question is a war. When a country is involved into a war, when people die, when the boys are far from home, at a strategic distance, when you have to maintain the support of the public for spending in a war, for the military presence and the rotational type of forces, when you are talking about death and wounded coming regularly from the field. If the war in question is a long war, inherited from previous governments, that you have to support, maintain and continue, than pass to the next government, in a democratic country, the public pressure of communication in crisis for a decision maker is even more diffi cult. The present article discusses what we call The Good News War1 and consists in the technique of a proactive campaign of putting in the media, in the forefront, the good news linked to the war, to the politics around the developing confl ict, about opportunities and achievements in war and a good crisis management, in order to obtain, increase or maintain the public support. And that’s an achievement and an experience, with lessons learnt and good practices, that worth being debated.
