Current Status of Medical Tourism in Turkey and The World

Summary/Abstract: With the developing technology, investments in the field of health, new and current treatment methods in the established private hospitals and state hospitals serve not only the citizens of the country, but also the citizens of foreign countries. Accordingly, people have started medical travels to countries where they think they offer better quality services or have more affordable prices. This study identified medical tourism potential, according to the country and especially were evaluated Turkey in the services that hospitals and doctors examined the medical tourism potential of Turkey with technical competence also work in Turkey's health tourism situation. As a result of the researches carried out in this direction, it was determined that people who travel for medical purposes mostly travel for cancer treatment, aesthetic and plastic surgery, cardiology, neurology, surgery and IVF treatment.
