Summary/Abstract: The first example of archetypes as a philosophy term. Carl Gustav Jung, inspired by Plato's idea concept, examined cultural archetypes. According to Jung; every society has a collective unconscious. There are value judgments, world view and cultural patterns of the society. Archetypes are produced unconsciously and appear through complexes. Collective unconscious occurs in verbal products produced based on common experiences. Myths are one of them. However, in modern urban life, myth is not produced with its traditional form, but cinema is replaced as a contemporary myth producer and transmitter. According to many researchers, cinema films replace the myths in the traditional context with this function and reflect the collective unconsciousness of the society. From this point of view: Cinema films reflect the value judgments, culture and world view of the society in which they are produced. Therefore, reading the unconscious reflections of a film or a character is a good way to read the folklore of that society. In this article, the reflection of maternal archetype on Yeşilçam films is discussed in the folkloric context through the roles of mother played by Aliye Rona. Aliye Rona has acted in nearly two hundred films, her gestures, harsh expressions and mother roles given to her as the traditional mother of Turkish society, while also representing the first archetypal mother through symbols. In this article, Aliye Rona's unconscious archetypical appearance is examined from a folkloric point of view through the complexes and conflicts reflected to her children.
