Summary/Abstract: Colors, which are a part of nature and life, have an important place in the life of societies in terms of culture. Colors that have various uses in abstract and concrete terms have displayed a leading role in the expression of people's feelings, thoughts and needs throughout history. In this study, the colors are discussed with regard to their use in the field of medicine / health, one of the areas in which they actively take part. In this context, Ahmedî’s Tervîhü'lErvâh, Hekim Bereket’s Tuhfe-i Mübârizî and İshâk Bin Murâd's Edviye-i Müfrede, three of the first medical manuscripts in the Anatolian field, were examined and the color names were reviewed. Compared with contemporary medicine, which has become more advanced with the possibilities of modern science and technology, the observation and interpretation of different changes in the body of people undoubtedly provided fundamental clues in the diagnosis and treatment of various health problems in the 13th-14th century medicine. It was observed that the colors, primary element to reveal the features of these observed cases, were used in ancient medicine conclusively. In the aforementioned works, it has been noticed that the names of colors could be used not only in the diagnosis of the health problems, but also in the names of various medicines, mixtures, various plants, foods, beverages, and etc. recommended by physicians. Within the scope of the study, the color names in the related works were evaluated under different titles according to their usage areas and the use of color names in the Anatolian field medical manuscripts was analysed.
