Summary/Abstract: The rising of Tango, although not yet certain, is thought to came from the “tan-go” sounds which ocur with the tappings in African tamtam or from the “tangere”verb in Latin which means “to touch” Tango, whose origin is thought to be Africa, is also said to be born from the words “meeting point”or “special place” in that language. Tango was generally called as “simple Tango”or in other words “tango criollo” in the early years of it’s apperance, However, by virtue of progressed music and dance culture, one can encounter a lot more different denominations of tango. Besides the Argentinian Tango which is thougt to be the birthplace of Tango, Chinese Tango, Finn Tango, Turkish Tango were developed and these denominations are used frequently today. In this study, it is determined that there are quite few researches in oral tango music in Turkey and the research of the study is directed from this point of view. In Turkey, with the announcement of Republic, polphonic music improved and Tango became popular and spread. Necip Celal, Fehmi Ege, and Necdet Koyutürk composed several Tango pieces and provided Tango to become popular and spread in Turkey. When the sources about Tango were examined, with the descriptive analysis model, 75 Turkish Tango compositions were obtained, analysing them their positional and structures are trid to be revealed.
