This fact, as well as many others, were meticulously described by the resident of Płock Maria Macieszyna. These memories, called by the author herself, “Diary of Płocczanka” are a chronicle of the events of the city of Płock from 1916–1919. They count eight notebooks of different volumes, which together constitute over 1,400 pages of the manuscript, which complement various documents, such as leaflets, newspaper clippings, occasional stamps, entry tickets or photographs. They undoubtedly constitute a unique documentation of the city’s history in this important and crucial period when the independent Republic was formed.
