Examination of Nâ't-I Mevlânâ in Terms of Usûl-Vezin

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between usul-wezin and Na’t-ı Mevlana, which is thought to exist, which is one of the touchstones of our religious music collection and can be regarded as a manifestation of Itrî's musical mastery, on four different copies in the archives of the State Choir. In order to form the basis of the research and to achieve the predetermined objectives, a portion of the data was reached by scanning sources. In addition, comparative and deductive methods were used in the research. In the determination of aruz patterns of Nâ’t-ı Mevlana, which is the subject of the research, the knowledge and experience of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yakup Poyraz was benefited from. In the first part of our study, after brief information about the relationship between Nâ’t, Nâ’t-ı Mevlana and usûl-wezin, in the second part, the positive-negative points of the work within the relationship between usul-vezin were evaluated. In addition to this analysis, within the framework of the rules of aruz wezni, the transcription of the aforementioned work is provided in the way that we think it should be due to the relationship between usul and vezin.
