Summary/Abstract: This study deals with contemporary challenges facing the Orthodox Church, in the Pastoral field. The gifts of Spirit, indicated in the Pauline epistles to Corinthians, Romans and Ephes Churches, became fruitful in the synergy of leadership in communion with the faithful. This communion is grounded in four values: Repentance, Sacrifice, Obedience, and Discernment. The New Testament theology, enriched by Patristic interpretation, is applied also in the life of the Orthodox Church. In the 21st century, these spirituals gifts know dynamic aspects in St. Nektarios, St. Porphyrios and Gerontissa Gabriella’s communitarian activity.
