Summary/Abstract: There have been many works, composed by Turkish contemporary composers for oboe and string orchestra, so far. Hasan Niyazi Tura, known as a versatile Musician with his specialties like composer-conductor-violinist, composed his own 'Oboe Concerto' in 2006. His concerto consists of three movements. The first movement has a classic Sonata-Allegro form. The second movement is in three-part song form (A-B-A) and the third movement has a Rondo-Sonata form. This beautiful concerto, which is blended in Turkish maqam serial sounds and written in classical form, is included in Turkish contemporary compositions. It is thought that, studying Tura’s oboe concerto from the aspect of form, will enlighten the interpreters who will play it.
