Summary/Abstract: The war, which is as old as human history, has created its own language by reflecting the mentality and developments of its time. The army, weapons and ammo types, the elements of the war, have changed along with the technological, political and cultural developments. These changes have affected Russian war lexicon as in all languages. The existing words, along with the derivation of new words, have exposed to the semantic changes and contributed to the development of the Russian war lexicon. In this study, it is aimed to show the semantic changes in Russian war lexicon within the frame of word and semantic relationship. In accordance with this purpose, semantic changes have been gathered under three sub-titles as semantic shift, semantic restriction and semantic extension. As a result of the research done within Russian war lexicon, it was determined that the words which are exposed to semantic restriction are more common than the semantic shift and semantic extension. This situation can be explained with the meaning of words that meant multiple meanings in the past and the derivation of new words expressing other meanings of the word as a result of enrichment of the war lexicon by reflecting the developments in the context of military and war to the language.
