Investigation of the Leadership Concept to Excellence Model: Karabuk State Hospital Example

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The aim of this study is to find out the link between EFQM sub-dimensions of leadership concept and reveal which dimension is important for leadership. Design/methodology/approach – Unlike structure level, maturity or sector levels, management sciences clearly reveal the reasons why each institution can achieve success and create a management system that suits its own structure. It also contributes to the improvement of different proposals and approaches in order to find results for these reasons. These systems deal with a part of the management with different dimensions and form the framework of the dimension with the special standards it deems appropriate to be done to these parts. However, management, which has many dimensions, differs according to the job itself and the institutions or businesses that make it work. Therefore, there is a need for an easily applicable tool in order to question the management perspectives of enterprises and organizations in different scales and also in different sectors. In this case, the EFQM Excellence Model emerges as an easy tool to meet this need. In this context, EFQM should be investigated within the concept of leadership and it is important that the sub-dimensions associate with leadership. The research was applied to 267 people working in Karabük State Hospital by questionnaire method. The questionnaire of 158 people was interpreted by structural equation analysis.
