Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to determine the factors that affecting the cash holding policies of the retail sector companies listed in Borsa Istanbul (BIST) AS. In this study, the data of 9 retail trade companies which were obtained from the Public Disclosure Platform website and covering the period of 2009- 2018 were analyzed by micro panel data method. In this context cash ratio was selected as dependent variable, leverage ratio, asset structure, profitability, liquidity, size, long-term financing of assets, growth opportunities and cash dividend distribution were examined as independent variables. According to the results, it is seen that the profitability, size, liquidity and long term borrowing variables have a significant effect on the cash holding policies of the companies operating in the Borsa Istanbul.
