Summary/Abstract: This paper refers to the main directions in the evolution of Orthodox monasticism in the diocese of Huși during the times of Bishop Grigorie Leu (1940-1949). The author presents the reforms undertaken with the view of stimulating monastic life, repairing works of monasteries and some of the most important personalities of monasticism within the diocese.
