Summary/Abstract: In the second half of 1909 the political setup in European Turkey underwent visible change. The regime of the Young Turks gradually took an overt offensive against the national movements. The new political environment prompted a tangible rearrangement of the forces in the Bulgarian national movement, which, in the aftermath of the Young Turk's coup, had centered around two political organisations – the Union of the Bulgarian Constitutional Clubs (UBCC) and the people's Federative party (PFP).
