Summary/Abstract: Edirne and Kırkkilise, which were lost in the First Balkan War issued by the Balkan League against the Ottoman Empire, were invaded by Bulgarians for about four months, and the end of this invasion was possible with the Second Balkan War. The Ottoman Empire managed to reestablish its rule over the region by taking back these cities in June 1913. After taking back Edirne and the surrounding regions, several trips were made to the area for not only emphasizing that it is an inseparable part of the Ottoman Empire and the Muslim world but also provide the residents of the region with financial and psychological support. One of such visits was the trip experienced by Crown Prince Yusuf Izzeddin accompanied by Prince Ziyaeddin. The two Princes who moved from Istanbul on 28 July 1913 visited firstly Edirne and then Kırkkilise, observed the post-invasion situation on site, gathered with the locals, inspected the military forces and made donations for the poor. This visit by the Crown Prince and the Prince greatly pleased the dwellers of the city that had just been saved from invasion, and the people experienced the joy of meeting the Crown Prince. This short visit by the members of the Imperial Family ended on 1 August 1913.
