DEFINITION OF THE TERM “BIOTECHNOLOGY”

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the definition of the term as a way of its studying. The study of the definition of the term within the framework of scientific and professional discourse is one of the most significant and actively developing directions in terminology and cognitive linguistics. Analyzing the definition of the term “biotechnology” in English and Russian, the author points to the lack of a well-defined definition of this term, which confirms the temporal definition of concepts in any science that can be transformed depending on the development of the latter.
