Summary/Abstract: The article is a tribute to our colleague Iancu Filipescu, significant and representative sociologist for the 70s generation, who passed away in August 2019. He was noticed for his intense activity in the fields of rural sociology, industrial sociology and sociology of organizations, being an outstanding researcher and an elite professor. We will always remember fondly his name.
