Summary/Abstract: In general, the struggle of secularism today is directed against two enemies: against the traditional enemy, namely the Catholic Hydra, which is accused of continuing to pursue its work of the spiritual and moral conquest or reconquest of society in countless facets; and against the new enemy, namely openly (and sometimes in degrading) Islam under attack. (At this point, a third enemy could be named: the sects against which the secular state has been officially fighting for about a decade.)
