Indexing of Iconographic Documents. An Introduction

Summary/Abstract: Digitalisation of documents popularizes access to iconographic documents. However, it is not easy to organize adequate access points to such collections. Development of subject access points is particularly difficult. A key issue is image analysis and – in consequence – development of adequate description. This is a review, with methods of analysis and models of indexing iconographic documents presented on a few examples.
