Summary/Abstract: In the history of many parishes there are notable pastors, who by their activity outreached the pastoral service. One of them is, almost forgotten today, fr. Wincenty Spirra, a parish priest in Wierzbie near Wieluń (1927-1930) and in Wąsosz in 1930-1945. After the Second World War he was known as Wincenty Spyra. He was born in 1891 in Opole. As a young man he entered the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer where he graduated the studies and took on Holy Orders. In 1925 he left the congregation and started pastoral service as a diocesan priest in “Polish” Silesia and since 1927 in diocese of Czestochowa. He worked in Wąsosz parish in 1930-1945 and he left there the signs of his pastoral service.
