Summary/Abstract: The article presents a structure of an information space of a text, referring to analysis of marginal notes in the book Concrete Mathematics by Ronald L. Graham, Donald E. Knuth and Oren Patashnik (Polish edition – Warsaw: PWN, 1998). The author lists text information surface and metatext surface with a layer of intertextual, intratextual, and associational relations. Information structure of a text is exemplified with marginal notes by one of it’s first readers
