IMPACT OF DIGITALIZATION ON THE REGULATION OF FINANCIAL MARKETS

Summary/Abstract: The study examines the impact of digitalization on the money market, primarily from aregulatory perspective. New digital financial services pose a challenge for both supervisors andlegislators when they are performed by unregulated financial services providers. The article points outthese challenges and examines how legislation responds to them. The problem will be analyzed in thecase of the European Union and also Hungary. Comprehensive solutions have not yet been found, butthere are attempts to address the problem. The findings of the study may help to further examine thetopic and find new solutions.
