Summary/Abstract: The present study aims at depicting the true identity of the people that protestedin the streets during Romania’s #Rezist movement in 2017 against thegovernment’s rules and regulations regarding the judiciary system. Throughcontent analysis of the slogans used during the street protests, the present papertries to identify the linguistic markers of #Rezist protesters’ identity, suggestinga typology for it. Having as a theoretical background Social Identity Theory andSelf-Categorization Theory, the paper equally seeks to show how these typesand subtypes of the protesters’ identity aim at getting a persuasive effect.
