Summary/Abstract: Dialogues in Af tsarisher katorgue [In Tsarist Penal Labor] are the very foundation of the text. They are a key in the emergence of messianism as an other in the narrative. Intertextual palimpsests and resurgences of memories and of the unconscious repressed draw some forms of strangeness. These elements are part of a complexity in the diegesis and in the symbolic construction of the text. Furthermore, an “us” (that is the Jewish community in Exodus and in diaspora) interferes with the narrator’s “I”. The voices are bundles that organize the dialogism. The eschatological pattern and the resurgence of messianic characters participate to establish a polyphonic narrative.
