Summary/Abstract: Folk Literature products are national resources for children and youth books. Folklore products are among the most important data to be conveyed to future generations as they reflect Turkish culture, social life and collective consciousness. Youth literature, which is a transition period between children’s literature and adult literature, is a period in which it is important for individuals to encounter qualified literary works because individuals will use their experiences throughout their lives. The works of this period should reflect Turkish culture, folklore elements and meet the expectations of young people. The study was prepared by survey method which is one of the qualitative research models. In this study, we wanted to present an example of the use of folklor design in youth literature, the first youth novel titled “Kunday-Gölgeler Çağı” written by Gürsel Korat. The information obtained through document analysis is evaluated with descriptive analysis; In this novel, which is woven with knowledge from history and mythology, it is both entertaining and educational for young readers. It was revealed that the folkloric narrative such as fairy tale, legend and epic, and the passing of Shamanism, included the motif and provided a rich transfer of culturel diversity through text.
