Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to review the main measures taken at the european political decision-making level in order to combat the SARS CoV2 pandemic.Starting from the first official notification issued by the World Health Organization, the article will briefly review the main lines of action developed by the European Commission and how they reflect the application of principle of solidarity between EU Member States.Last but not least, the article will try to outline the main measures that need to be taken by the European Union institutions in order to restart the economy and mitigate the effects of this pandemic.
