History by metaphor. Union with the Church of Rome

Summary/Abstract: The study tackles the evolution of researches from the Romanian historiography on the imaginary based on perception of the nation as a social body, body politic. This assessment is completed by the author with the particular case of the Transylvanian Romanians at the beginning of modernity. The proposed contribution offers a new view on valorisation of the Church Union from Transylvania (1697–1701) from the perspective of how the Transylvanian Romanians imagined integration, subsequently the significant development of the Transylvanian Romanian Church within the ecclesiastical body of the Catholic Church.
