Summary/Abstract: The article introduces František Weyr (1879-1951) as an outstanding personality of Czech jurisprudence, legal philosophy, legal theory, political science and statistics. It describes his life, activities and work, focusing on the period of his engagement with the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University in Brno. It also informs about the conference on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of his death and about the publication of the monograph dedicated to his person.
