Summary/Abstract: We believe that the most appropriate way we can approach the Aristotelian thought after 2400 years is to take a critical attitude to see to what extent elements of this thinking are present or have stimulated certain concepts of the contemporary artistic consciousness. That is why I opted for the re-reading of the mimesis notion to which Aristotle, but also Plato, contributed fundamentally.
