THE TRAP “PARENTAL ALIENATION SYNDROME” – BETWEEN SCIENCE AND IDEOLOGY

Summary/Abstract: The article critically explores the theory of “the Parental Alienation Syndrome”, which has been gaining in popularity for the past several years and whose incorporation into Bulgarian legislation has been advocated by various organizations, groups and circles. The author summarizes the available literature on the topic and concludes that according to the majority of researchers, in its current form the theory does not come up to scientific standards and is inappropriate to embody in regulation.
