Summary/Abstract: Unlike other legal systems, such as the English one, where you don`t need a specific reason to change your name or surname, as long as the desired change does not have a fraudulent purpose, such as avoiding debt settlement or performing of an obligation, otherwise the name change can take place at any time, the Romanian legal system allows the name change only for certain legal considerations, based on an administrative decision.
