Summary/Abstract: Examining Chris Cunningham’s music video of Björk’s “All Is Full of Love”, Shaviro addresses the question of how cyborgs feel and love. Starting from the assumption that humanity has already entered the era of posthumanism, as reflected in contemporary fictional narratives, Shaviro analyses Cunningham’s techniques and symbolism and demonstrates that the aesthetics and metaphors in the music video present an alternative to the popular narratives of virtual disembodiment. His approach does not criticise the phenomenon of virtualisation, but rather points to its hidden, unused potential.
