Summary/Abstract: Building on the work of literary scholars Władysław Panas and Sławomir Buryła, Żurek explores the ways in which topics related to the Shoah are manifest in Polish literature of the new millennium. His key example is Igor Ostachowicz’s prose (Noc żywych Żydów [Night of the Living Jews], 2012), which contains topoi of the Shoah such as anti-Semites and Neo-Nazis, declining traditional values, the second/third generation, a place on the Aryan side, the place where the ghetto used to be, the place where the camp used to be, Muranów, pogroms, the righteous, the trauma of the Shoah, the struggle for remembrance, living corpses/Jewish zombies, as well as their links with Judaism.
