Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of the still little-known manuscript in the Russian historiography, «The History of Life and Achievements of Henry VII» by the court author Bernard André, written in the early 1500-s, which contains not only detailed information about the English King, including facts of his bloodline, accession to the throne after the victorious conclusion of the civil War of the Roses and reign until the suppression of the Perkin Warbeck uprising, but also information about the author of the manuscript and the surrounding court colleagues. The biography of King Henry VII, written by B. André, reflects several topics that were later popularized by Tudor propaganda: a story about the prediction of the accession to the throne of Henry Richmond, the Godchosen new monarch, the personification of the King’s first-born with the legendary King Arthur. Andre's work will also be interesting for researchers working on the history of the English court intelligentsia — the author sometimes writes in sufficient detail not only about himself, but also other court authors, such as the Italians Pietro Carmeliano, Giovanni Gigli and Cornelio Vitelli, who arrived at the court of King Henry VII, which makes «The History of Life...» one of the important sources of information about them. An appeal to the text of the manuscript also confirms certain details of the biography of Andre himself, who held not only the posts of court poet and royal historiographer, but also was responsible for the training and education of the heirs of the English throne, Princes Arthur and Henry, in particular, affirmatively answer the question about his possible blindness.
