New extra remedial instrument in the criminal proceedings - appeal

Summary/Abstract: Since the beginning of the 1990s, we have witnessed numerous efforts to amend, reform or codify criminal proceedings in the Czech Republic, as evidenced by almost twenty adopted amendments, implemented either by law or by the findings of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic. These efforts have resulted in the adoption of the so-called major amendment to the Criminal Procedure Code, which some experts call recodification, as it brings extensive and fundamental changes in our criminal proceedings.
