DAILY LIFE OF WOMEN INDUSTRIAL WORKERS OF ST. PETERSBURG IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX — THE BEGINNING OF THE XX c. IN THE SOVIET HISTORIOGRAPHY

Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the historiography of the Soviet period on the daily life of women workers of industrial St. Petersburg in the second half of the XIX — early XX c. Soviet historians tried to reflect in their studies the real life of women workers in factories and factories. Censorship, which existed in the USSR, often prohibited such publications. But Soviet researchers were able to hide in their texts forbidden information. Many proposals were about the low wages of women workers, but very little about the fact that wages increased. Much was said about the long working day and very little about the fact that the working day was decreasing. They wrote a lot about poor housing for workers and quite a bit about the fact that the workers had good apartments and rooms. Thanks to such tricks, modern researchers have a unique historical wealth of Soviet historians.
