Summary/Abstract: In this paper roadside memorials are treated in theoretical and empirical terms. Roadside memorials have become a common occurrence in modern times. In Kosova, roadside memorials were erected especially since 1999. I have mainly based my research on observation, photography and analysis of memorials, whilst to get acquainted with the attitudes and perceptions about these memorials, as well as what messages these memorials give to those who build them, to those who visit them and to others more broadly, we have conducted instant and occasional interviews with various citizens. In this paper, we will talk about war memorials and traffic memorials, because memorials dedicated to those killed in the war, as well as those dedicated to the dead in traffic accidents, are categorized as roadside memorials.
