Summary/Abstract: In the imediate aftermath of World War I, the Great Britain was committed to enforce its commitments deriving from the 1915 London Secret Treaty. This meant divizion of Albania between Greece, Italy and Kingdom of Serbs-Croats-Slovenes (later: Yugoslavia). But, information abort oil sources in Albania made her to cange its stance abort Albania. The oil concessions granted to Anglo-Persian Oil Company reaffirmed Albania’s recognition of 1913 andthus the Great Britain was now committed to maintain Albania’s political and territorial integrity. Pursuing this goal the British diplomacy has been cautious and cold about the developments concerning Albanians in the Yugoslavia. For the sake of the peace and order she encouraged any agrement between Yugoslavia and Albania. Concretely, Great Britain urged Albanian government not to support irredentist movements in Kosovo, as this would remove Belgrade’s pretext for massacres against Albanian population in Kosovo. The same atitude was followed even after the year 1928 when Albanian state was already consolidated politically and was actively committed in defending the rights of Albania in the Yugoslavia. Through out this period British interest consisted in maintaining peace and order in Balkans and there for eurgedany action in this regard despite being aware about the plight of the Albanian population in Kosovo.
