Summary/Abstract: Our purpose is to analyse over three days how five French newspapers of different sensibilities handled the Strauss-Kahn affair, the arrest in New York of the director of the International Monetary Fund for sexual assault and rape. We observe the process of elaborating the media identity of Dominique Strauss-Kahn through the nomination strategies in the media discourse (considered as a discursive genre in the tradition of the French School of Discourse Analysis). We see how, in this accelerated moment of crisis, the written press mobilizes different strategies to change (or not) this identity of the politician into discourse.
