Summary/Abstract: Irony makes The Kite Runner more intriguing and forces the reader to use his/her imagination and comprehend the underlying meanings of the text. Therefore, the use of irony brings the novel closer to real life, and especially to real relationships and their dynamics. We can claim that Khaled Hosseini uses irony to advance the plot, themes, and the character development.
