Summary/Abstract: The tourism eco-certification systems and eco-labels are tools that drive the tourism industry toward sustainable development. They provide reliable information and guarantee the quality of tourist products and services for tourists, tourism managers, government agencies, and politicians. For the entrepreneurs in tourism, the eco-labels are means to achieve competitive advantage. There are over 500 eco-certification systems and ecolabels worldwide, including the EU Ecolabel "Flower". This paper also presents IH & RA package of ecological hotels IH & RA, and a case study, Eleonas Hotel, as a model of best environmental practices for hotel units.
